First edition.  108pp, plus 8pp of black and white plate illustrations.  Cloth-covered boards.  8vo.  Cloth worn and rubbed at edges.  Text block edges spotted.  Some mild spotting on endpapers else internally neat, clean and tight.  In its original dust wrapper, rubbed at edges and around spine ends, and discoloured.  Dust wrapper now protected in a clear plastic sleeve, itself a little aged and worn.

Grey Owl (born Archibald Belaney, 1888-1938) was an English-Canadian writer, public speaker and leading conservationist.  Born in Hastings in England, later in life he passed as half-Indian and achieved some fame promoting wilderness conservation.  His true identity was only exposed after his death.
