Undated but circa 1920. 428, [2]pp, with colour plate frontispiece and three further colour plate illustrations. Blue cloth-covered boards with black decoration and lettering front and spine. 12mo. Cloth gently rounded on corners, slightly rubbed on spine ends. Some spotting on text block edges and faintly and occasionally on pages, pink mark on front free endpaper else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original worn and torn dust wrapper, creased and slightly soiled in places, with some spotting and shelf wear, price clipped. Dust jacket now protected in an archival quality Mylar wrapper fitted without the use of tape or adhesives.

A lovely, fairly early edition of one of R M Ballantyne’s classic tales for children, scarce in dust wrapper which, albeit damaged, is just about complete and still attractive.
