First edition, first impression.  192pp, with a smattering on monochrome illustrations.  Brown cloth-covered boards, gilt lettering on the spine.  Peach endpapers.  8vo.  Cloth a little rounded on corners and spine ends.  There is a slight indentation affecting the first few leaves else internally neat, clean, bright and tight.  In its original dust wrapper, not price clipped, very slightly bumped on extreme edges.  Dust wrapper now protected in an archival-quality Mylar sleeve, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives.

Ford of Heaven is the literal translation of the Chinese name for the city of Tientsin, in north-eastern China, which forms the setting for his remarkable childhood autobiography.  When Power was growing up in the city in the 1920s and 1930s, the city was full of foreigners, all the major powers having claimed a portion of the city after the Opium War of 1860; and the guns of the local war lords formed the acoustic backdrop.
