Complete in one volume (subsequent editions were produced in several volumes). xiv, 334pp. Indexed. Maps and illustrations. Complete with one fold out map. Letter laid in, dated December 1916, to one Arthur, from Jenny, describing how she is gifting the book to him (no known association with author, but interesting reflection on the war-time publication of the work). Strong and sharp cloth covered boards, deckled edges (just a little rounded and worn on corners). Internally neat, clean, bright and tight, barring very mild creaming to endpapers. Very good copy. Sherlock Holmes creator turns to Great War history. Large and heavy volume which may require an additional charge to ship beyond the UK.
