Previous owner’s name. dated 1858, on the front free endpaper, else internally neat, clean and bright. A couple of strained gutters, making the binding a little soft. A detailed, pocket-sized book of Church history, based on Rev W Palmer’s monumental Compendious Ecclesiastical History, render into ‘a useful manual for schools and families in as small a compass as the subject would permit, and at such a price as to render it generally accessible’.
