Top edge sprayed blue. 8vo.  Cloth a little tired, gently rounded at spine tips.  Light shadowing on text block edges.  Internally neat, clean, bright and tight.  In its original illustrated matter dust jacket, worn, rubbed and toned at edges, lightly sunned spine,  with some visible toning on the interior.

The tory of how in May 1953 two mountaineers and a sherpa, inspired by an unflinching resolve, reached the summit of Mount Everest and came back unscathed to join their comrades at base camp. It is also the story of how other men over the preceding 30 or so years, had tried unsuccessfully to achieve the same thing.
