First edition, second printing.  xxii, 210pp, with colour and black and white illustrations.  Brown cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on the spine.  8vo.  Cloth a little pushed in at spine ends else neat, clean, bright and tight throughout.  In its original dust wrapper, worn, rubbed, scuffed and chapped all round edges and folds, minor loss at spine head, visible shelf wear

The author argues that the symbolism of heraldry became hereditary at some point in the middle ages, in a volume devoted to the tribes and nations of Israel in the early days of the patriarchs.  He claims a prophecy that these tribes maintained their emblems until their development into the Celto-Saxon hundreds of years later.
