Lord Snowdon – Anthony Armstrong-Jones before his ennoblement – was a high-society photographer best known for his portraits of prominent figures and celebrities, many of which are now held in a permanent collection by the National Portrait Gallery. In 1960 he married Princess Margaret, the younger sister of Queen Elizabeth II: they divorced 18 years later. He was a life-time advocate and campaigner for disabled people and contributed toward design and accessibility reforms.
