Catalogue produced to accompany the exhibition of Samuel Palmer’s paintings at the British Museum, October 2005 to January 2006. The exhibition later transferred to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Samuel Palmer was a landscape painter, heavily influenced by William Blake, also known for his etchings and printmaking, and a key figure in the Romanticism movement in England in the late 19th century.
