Half bound in smooth calf’s leather over marbled boards, six panelled spine with raised bands, extensive gilt decoration and lettering, speckled text block edges (leather scuffed and worn, rubbed at spine ends, some mild scuffing and rubbing to edges). Internally neat, clean, bright and tight, with just a few small marks on endpapers. Previous owner’s name on first title page. Two of Dumas’s novels, translated into English, originally published as part of the Parlour Library. The Parlour Library was a series of fiction reprints in paper covers first established by Simms & McIntyre in 1847 but subsequently issued by Thomas Hodgson from 1853 onwards. These volumes are in a mid 19th century half leather rebinding. Thick 12mo. Lovely little volume.
