Red cloth covered boards, extensively embossed and decorated in black and gilt, bevelled edges, all text block edges gilded. Extra illustrated title page. 4to. Boards rubbed at edges, a little worn all over and somewhat faded.  Hinges cracked, faint and occasional spotting and some offset tanning from plates. Front paste down a little rippled at edges.  Illustrations clean and gleaming. This volume contains Alnwick Castle, Beaudesert, Belvoir, Hatfield House, Hampton Court, Mulgrave Castle, Ardtully, Stourton, Worsley Hall, Leeds Castle, Stowe Park, etc. architecture, country seats, seats, stately homes, grand houses, estates, parks, castles.  Magnificent views of glorious country seats and mansions, some now lost, with brief accompanying historical descriptions of settings, Architecture, interior artworks and ownership.
