192pp.  with 278 illustrations of which 268 are in colour.  Green cloth-covered boards, with blind embossed motif on the upper panel and gilt-stamped lettering on the spine.  Bright lime green endpapers.  4to.  Volume is neat, clean, bright and tight throughout barring a narrow strip line mark on the  upper text block edge.  In its original illustrated, glossy dust jacket, not price clipped, just a little bumped on extreme edges and lightly shelf worn.

The modernist parks and gardens of Brazilian landscape architect and garden designer Roberto Burle Marx (1909–1994) earned him awards, widespread acclaim, and international fame. Over a 60-year career, he designed more than 2,000 gardens worldwide, the most famous of which are those he created in collaboration with the architect Oscar Niemeyer for Brasília.  Burle Marx was undoubtedly one of the 20th century’s greatest horticulturists and garden designers.  This volume presents over 30 new gardens in Brazil – from coast to mountains – inspired or influenced by his designs.
