First UK edition, first impression (previously published in the original German). 208pp, with 98 plate illustrations and six line drawings. Olive green cloth-covered boards, gilt-stamped lettering on the spine, gilt motif on upper panel. 8vo. Cloth gently rubbed and rounded at corners and spine tips. Text block edges slightly browned. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original glossy dust wrapper, very gently bumped at edges in places, slightly sunned over spine. Review of the book from the New Scientist loosely laid in.
