Sun-faded spine; rubbed corners spine ends; minor cloth loss. Light wear and staining to boards. Volume quite cocked; front hinge cracked, volume quite loose. Top text block edge dusty, all edges tanned and starting to fox. Endpapers starting to fox and tan. Previous owner’s name and three rubber stamps on front endpapers. Foxing throughout; intensity varies greatly. A Victorian novel in which a strange woman arrives at the Curgenven estate claiming to be the master’s wife.
