Reprint.  264pp.  Grey stiff card covers.  Colour patterned endpapers, taken from a 1922 design by the painter George Sheringham called Clusters of Stylised Fruits, Flowers and Shell Motifs.  12mo.  Volume is neat, clean, bright and tight throughout.  In its original dust wrapper, a little shelf worn with remains of previous price label on rear panel.  Includes promotional bookmark, with a pattern matching the endpapers.

Agnes Jekyll, the sister in law of garden writer Gertrude, was a well known society hostess.  in the early 1920s she wrote a series of essays for The Times newspaper anonymously, with recipes set against her commentary and guidance on home-making.  All those essays are collected here in this volume.
