Undated but likely circa 1910. 24pp, with 12 printed photographs showing scenes from the Holy Land, each one accompanied on the opposite page with captioned, beautifully and symbolically arranged pressed flowers from the region, each one tissue-guarded. Bound in olive wood boards, deeply carved cross surrounded by coloured inlay on the front panel and the word ‘Jerusalem’ stamped above it. Bevelled edges. Landscape 8vo (approximately 8.5 by 11 inches). . Backstrip absent and hinges cracked, loosening wooden panels to almost detached. Wood is a little rubbed on edges, with small white mark in lower leading corner. Internally there’s some browning and spotting to pages, especially in margins, the front free endpaper has been creased over the lower leading corner, cracking the card. Title page has a short tear close to the gutter and some small stained scuffs. Tissue guards are a little browned and spotted. A souvenir from the Holy Land a remarkable and beautiful artifact, likely worthy of some restoration.
