First edition [1934]. 256pp. With monochrome plate frontispiece (showing Jean with her pet dog) and three further like illustrations all by Frank Wiles. In green cloth-covered boards with black lettering on front and illustrated spine. Top edge coloured. 8vo. Boards gently worn, a little rubbed and rounded at corners, a little frayed at spine ends, two short cloth creases on front, one on spine). Previously owner’s inscription on half title page with a couple of further ink marks, else internally neat, fresh, bright and tight barring mild toning on endpapers.
