First edition,  228pp, with 37 plate portraits.  Black cloth-covered boards with gilt titling on spine. 8vo.  Cloth a little rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends.  Previous owner’s name inked on front free endpaper else internally neat, clean, bright and tight.  In its original dust wrapper, worn and chapped at edges, flat crease at bottom of front panel.
