Volume not dated but presumed 1920s or early 1930s. Decorated red cloth-covered boards, with design inspired by Talwin Morris. 12mo. Boards mildly sunned and lightly rubbed at edges, rubbing more pronounced at head and heel of spine and some mild staining on rear. Presentational prize bookplate and bookseller’s blind stamp on front free endpaper. Colour frontispiece. School report from 1934 on the recipient of the book loosely inserted. Internally pages are a little tanned at edges with occasional spotting. Small loss from edge of bastard title page. Binding tight & secure. Volume nicely square. Dust jacket which is for the most part complete is in two pieces, heavily chapped and chipped at edges, creased across the front and grubby but now preserved in mylar archival-quality protector and, in our opinion, still adds to the volume.
