First edition, first impression.  224pp, plus a central section of plate illustrations. Burgundy cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on the spine.  8vo.  Cloth very slightly rounded at base of spine.  Hint of creaminess to endpapers.  In its original glossy, illustrated dust jacket, a little shelf worn and very slightly bumped on the extreme lower edge, minor crease on inner front flap.

Sunday Times journalist George Hill recounts the story of the great storm of October 1987 which swept over and devastated large parts of England without warning, and its impact on individuals, on the environment (over 15 million trees were blown down in one night) and its administrative, political and economic repercussions.
