First edition, first printing.  viii, 156pp, plus a central section of plate illustrations, line drawings in text. Blue cloth-covered boards with silver lettering on dark blue relief on spine. Grey endpapers. 12mo.  Cloth is faded on extreme edges, gently rounded at corners and spine ends.  Previous price stamp on front free endpaper else internally neat, clean, bright and tight.

The Teach Yourself series of books began in 1938 and was published under the English Universities Press imprint until 1966. Well respected in particular for its language education and mathematics books, the series covers a broad range of topics.  Originally published in hardback the series transitioned to paperback during the 1970s.  The series has become collectible in its own right and a Concise Guide to Teach Yourself Books was published as early as 1958.  There are several hundred titles in the series.  We have many in stock and can offer generous discounts to those ordering more than one title at a time.  Please inquire.
