[1947]. First edition. 216pp, with 34 black and white plate illustrations. In blue cloth-covered boards with gitl lettering on the spine. Signed by the author on the front free endpaper. 8vo. Cloth very slightly rouned at corners and spine ends. Some faint and occasional spotting on text block edges and endpapers only. In its original illustrated dust jacket, a little rubbed on joints around spine, small chip at spine base, some visible shelf wear on verso. Jacket now protected in a Brodart-style sleeve fitted without using tape or glue.
