First edition, first impression.  484pp, with plate frontispiece, further colour and monochrome plates and profuse illustrations in text; four tipped in examples of marbled paper.  Quarter bound in red cloth cover grey cloth-covered boards, with gilt emblem on upper panel and gilt lettering on the spine. Top text block edge stippled red. 4to.  Cloth is a little tired and worn, gently rubbed and rounded on corners and ends of a moderately sunned spine.  Some mild marks on front paste down (possibly from removal of bookplate), some pencil annotations on the copyright page, and a small round library stamp on the last leaf (no other library markings) else internally neat, clean, bright and tight.
