First edition. 320pp. In purple cloth boards with gilt titles on spine. 8vo. Cloth worn and rubbed at edges, right through on rounded corners and spine ends. Text block edges toned. Hospital stamp and other mild marks on front free endpaper, front hinge partially cracked. Two lines in the preface have been underlined, with associated marginal marking, occasional mild nicks on page edges and hint of toning. Reminiscences of Bishop Welldon (1854-1937), the English clergyman and scholar, Bishop of Calcutta, Dean of Manchester and later Dean of Durham. Very hard to find title.
