Text in German. Third edition. 476, [12]pp. Oatmeal, heavy cloth-covered boards with red and black lettering front and spine. 8vo. Cloth a little worn and soiled, gently rounded at corners and spine ends. Text block edges slightly toned. Lacks half-title and frontispiece. Previous pricing pencilled on front paste down. A few minor signs of handling and use throughout else neat, clean and tight.

Darre was one of the leading ‘Blood and Soil’ ideologist of the the National Socialist party in the Third Reich, National Leader for Agricultural Policy and a high-ranking member of the Nazi Party and SS, although gradually he was distanced by Hitler who saw him as too ideologically-driven. Darre’s writing was largely concerned with the ancient and present Nordic peasantry and the ideology of ‘Blood and Soil’: he explicitly attacked Christianity as having deprived the Teutonic nobility of its moral foundations with its emphasis on the equality of all before God. This is the third edition of his first major work (first published in 1928), an unaltered reprint of the second edition.
