First edition, first impression. x, 48pp, with colour plate frontispiece with a captioned tissue-guard and 39 further colour plates, all with captioned tissue-guards. Brick red cloth-covered boards with black lettering front and spine. 4to. Cloth rubbed and rounded on corners and spine ends. Upper text block edge has traces of dustiness. There’s a small book-seller’s ticket on the front paste down else internally the volume is neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original paper dust jacket, not price clipped, rubbed and bumped at edges with minor loss at spine tips, slightly but unevenly toned.
