First edition, first impression. 176pp. lavishly illustrated throughout, with two large gatefolds (fold-out pages), three tipped in booklets, and a hidden poster pocket on the rear pastedown, complete with a Neil Gaiman poem poster inside. Pictorial boards. Folio. Volume is neat, clean, bright and tight throughout. In its original illustrated dust jacket, not price clipped, very slightly shelf worn and just a tad bumped on extreme edges.
A full colour art book by renowned British fantasy and faerie artist Brian Froud, released as a sequel to Faeries: it is regarded as Froud’s most personal and intimate work, drawing inspiration for his magical realism from England’s gnarled woodlands and windswept moorlands. The copy offered here is a true first edition trade release. A deluxe version (signed and in a custom box) was issued later; and Insight Edition produced a second trade edition, but to save on production costs all the interactive features were removed, the endpaper designs were changes and a lower-quality paper stock used.
