First edition, first impression.  xvi, 104pp.  Blue cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on the spine.  8vo.  Cloth is heavily mottled and unevenly discoloured, rubbed all round spine and on corners.  Text block edges grubby and toned.  Internally tanning on endpapers and foxing marked on first and last few pages, scattered and faint throughout.  In its original paper dust wrapper, heavily browned and brittle, rubbed and chipped all round edges, with marks and shelf wear.

An Introduction to Indian Music is described as an attempt to reconcile modern Hindustani music with ancient musical theory and to propound an accurate and comprehensive method of treatment of the subject of Indian musical intonation. A very hard to find title in its original edition.
