First UK edition (published in the USA a year earlier). 310pp, with a tissue guarded frontispiece depicting Ikon and the stars, and furthur plate illustrations. Blue cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering and decorations on front panel and spine. Top edge srayed blue. Coated creamy-yellow endpapers. 8vo. Cloth a little worn, rubbed and rounded on corners and around spine, spine sunned with dull lettering. Top edge dust dulled. A little page toning, especially on frontispiece verso. Faint and occasional spotting.

The story of a boy, Ikon, fascinated by the stars and who travels to other planets. Giberne (1845-1939) was an amateur astronomer, a founder member of the British Astronomical Society, who used the device of this charming story to relate facts about our solar system and other stars.
