Second edition.  [vi],176pp, with 34 stunning colour plates, many other illustrations in text and four pages with coloured specimens of Parson’s Endeflat, Endelline and Lacreite enamel paints tipped in.  In red cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering and decoration, blinded stamped second endition on front panel. 8vo.  Boards a little rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends.  Top text block edge a tad dusty.  Internally remarkably bright, clean and neat.

Effectively a trade catalogue for Thomas Parsons & Sons – London manufacturers of varnishes, paints, japans, enamels and fine colours – this volume is testament to the high design aspirations of the era, with room schemes or ornamentation and colour designs offered freely for use.  It showcases the work of two early 20th century British Arts and Crafts designers – W Smart and W G Sutherland, as well as the products of Thomas Parsons.  Designs preceded by a brief introduction to the company.
