First edition, first impression.  264pp, with a monochrome plate frontispiece, further monochrome plates interleaved, line drawings in text and complete with large folding map bound in at rear.  Red cloth-covered boards, gilt titles on spine.  Illustrated endpapers.  8vo.  Cloth a little tired, gently rubbed and rounded on points and a little sunned over the spine.  Text block edges dull to yellowing.  Bookplate of the Library of the UK branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (overwritten withdrawn) opposite the title page else internally neat, clean and tight albeit a tad less than bright.
