Gwendoline John (1876-1939) was a Welsh artist (born in Haverfordwest), the sister of fellow artist Augustus John and lover of Auguste Rodin. Although her output and reputation were overshadowed by both those of her brother and lover in her lifetime, her work as grown in recognition and awareness since her death. Often featuring anonymous female subjects in closely detailed scenes. She was also the muse for Rodin unfinished monument to Rex Whistler.
