Robert “Robin” Lewis Plackett (died 2009) was a statistician, Professor of Statistics at the University of Newcastle, who is best known for his contributions to the history of statistics and experimental design, most notably the Plackett–Burman experimental designs which he bgan to develop whilst working for the Ministry of Supply towards the end of the Second World War.
