First English language edition, first printing (previously published in the original Italian).  332pp, with monochrome plate illustrations.  Quarter bound in purple cloth over blue paper-covered boards, gilt lettering to spine.  8vo.  Boards a little rounded on corners and spine ends.  Upper text block edge dusty, all text block edges a little yellowed.  Previous owner’s name neatly inked on the front free endpapers.  A little yellowing to pages.  In its original dust wrapper, shelf worn, gently bumped at edges with a circa 8mm closed nick at the base of the upper panel.
