First edition, third impression.  xvi, 382pp, with numerous figures and diagrams in text.  Red cloth-covered boards with black lettering front and spine.  8vo.  Cloth is a little tired, a little bruised at spine ends, rounded on corners.  Some shadowing on text block edges.  Previous owner’s name neatly inked, twice, on the front paste down, where there is also a small bookseller’s ticket (from Foyles on Charing Cross Road) else internally neat, clean, bright and tight.  In its original dust wrapper, browned and worn, rubbed all round edges and subbed to brittle over the spine.
