Undated, but the preface suggests publication around the time of partition, so circa 1957.  90pp stapled booklet, with map and black and white plate illustrations.  In printed light card wraps, with a plain card integral over-wrapper.  12mo. Soiled and tatty throughout.  Card covers are rubbed, soiled and marked.  Inner wrapper, also soiled and rubbed at edges, has a previous owner’s name on the upper panel.  Internally some rubbing and soiling to page edges and the occasional smudge mark and chipping.

A now very hard to find booklet which retells the history of India and Pakistan from ancient times to the mid 20th century, laced with the celebration of recently acquired independence.  Aimed at school children and published by Lahore’s oldest bookshop.
