Undated.  [1924].  xiv, 404pp, with tissue-guarded colour plate frontispiece and numerous further monochrome plate illustrations interleaved in text, and one large, folding map.  Olive green cloth-covered boards with brown lettering front and spine, central vignette on the upper panel and spine.  Top edge sprayed green. Olive green endpapers.  8vo.  Cloth a little rubbed on spine tips and corners, upper panel very slightly bowed. Unsprayed edges a little toned.  Free endpapers a little toned, and a hint of toning in the margins of the first and last few true leaves else internally neat, clean, bright and tight.

The Gresham Publishing Company issued its well-regarded series on Myth and Legend in Literature and Art initially a series of six, then eight volumes in the 1910s.  Further volumes, including this one, were added up to 1930, to make a total of twelve.  This is one of the scarcer titles in the series, and unusual to find in this second state series binding (it was too late in the series to ever be issued in the first state binding and is more common in the third (dark blue cloth) binding used in the early 1930s.
