Two books from the ‘Golden Budget for Girls’ series published by Blackie and Son around the 1930s. The volumes are undated but these two different editions contain a selection of stories for girls. Both volumes have a colour frontispiece and black and white lining drawing illustrations in text. Pictorial boards. 12mos. Covers are worn, with some rubbing and chipping on edges and joints. Text block edges dull. Previous owner’s name, in childish hand, on front endpapers of both volumes. Internally both have a little light spotting in places and one volume has a cracked gutter.
