[1915, dated from British Library Catalogue]. 248pp, with black and white frontispiece, further black and white plate illustrations and maps.  Blue cloth-covered boars with black lettering front and spine.  12mo.  Cloth is a little tired, gently rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends.  Slightly bowed.  Some spotting to text block edges.  Previous owner’s name, dated 1919, on front paste down, small bookseller’s stamp on front free endpaper.  Free endpapers toned.  There is significant underlining and marginal marks through one section of the book (none obscuring text) else internally neat and clean. 

Includes chapters on Baba Nanak, Guru Govind Singh, The Constitution of the Khalsa, The Decline of the Sikh Monarchy, The First and Second Sikh Wars, Under the British Protectorate, Annexation, etc.
