First edition, first impression. Unpaginated [40pp] with colour illustrations throughout. Pictorial paper-covered boards. Illustrated endpapers. 4to. Boards a little pushed at spine ends, slightly shelf worn, with one small indentation on lower edge. In its original paper, illustrated dust wrapper, rubbed all round edges and browned in margins, closed tear on upper leading corner, chipped and rubbed at ends of a sunned spine.

The second Achilles story, penned by H E Bates (Fair Stood the Wind for France, Love for Lydia, Darling Buds of May) after being inspired by Carol Barker’s pictures, drawn after her return from Greece, where the story is set.
