Complete in three volumes. 1-460pp, with 12 colour plates and hundreds of black and white photographic illustrations; 461-908, with 8 colour plates and hundreds of black and white photographic illustrations; 909-1356pp, with seven colour plates and hundreds of black and white photographic illustrations. All three volumes uniformly bound in brown patterned cloth with gilt decorations and gilt titles on spine. 4to. Cloth is just a little worn, gently rubbed at corners and spine ends. Text block edges a little dust darkened. Internally a hint of spotting on endpapers else neat, clean, bright and tight throughout.

A handsome and imposing set of books. Very heavy.
