First edition.  294pp, with monochrome plate frontispiece and further monochrome plate illustrations interleaved with text.  Orange cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on black relief on spine.  8vo.  Cloth is worn and mottled, rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends, with some minor indentations on edges.  Text block edges toned.  Hint of toning on endpapers, page faces a little creamy, else internally neat, clean and tight.  Dust wrapper, once attractive, worn, torn, creased, rubbed to crumbling at corners and spine ends, some loss and shelf wear on rear panel.
