In richly decorated brown cloth-covered boards, with gilded and black stamped decorations, gilt lettering front and spine, bevelled edges. All edges gilt. Brown endpapers. Elegant red page borders and decorative initial caps throughout. 8vo. Cloth a little worn, gently rubbed and rounded at edges, lightly sunned on spine. Front boards slightly loosened. Some light spotting on first and last few leaves, tissue guarded lightly browned. Rear hinge cracked with netting visible.

An attractive copy of the works of Oliver Goldsmith in a highly decorative binding, albeit this copy showing the patina of age, still a good vintage copy for a lover of Goldsmith and his writing. Includes a biographical memoir of Goldsmith.
