Three stories from the Little Black Sambo series. Undated but circa 1940. Circa 40pp each with colour illustrations throughout. Uniformly bound in publisher’s cloth with black lettering front and spine. 24mo. Boards are generally worn, rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends, slightly soiled. Internally all three volume show signs of fingering but are generally clean and neat. The Story of Little Black Bobtail has a previous owner’s name neatly inked on the title page. The Story of Little Black Quasha has childish scrawls in different pens on the title page. All three volumes in their original, illustrated dust wrappers, bumped at edges, rubbed on corners and chipped at spine ends, moderately toned, with a couple of closed tears on verso.Black Mingo’s dust wrapper shows signs of old water damage on verso, coloured leeched to interior. A little musty.
