78pp, with some plate illustrations and several pages of contemporary adverisements.  In plain brown boards with title label on spine.  8vo.  Boards are worn, heavily rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends, chipped around spine, with title label almost entirely chipped away.  Binding fragile with sme strained gutters.  Offset toning on front free endpaper, else just a hint of toning in page margins. Elegant bookplate of Robert Washington Oates (likely the respected antiquarian book and antiques dealer who secured the home of Gilbert White as a permanent memorial to the author and naturalist, and brother of Captain Lawrence Oates, a member of Scott’s Antarctic Expedition).

This issue of The Chord contains articles on the Opera Season; Music in the Universities; Concerning the Music Hall Song etc.
