52pp stapled booklet with black and white illustrations, in illustrated laminated card covers. 8vo. Very gentle edge wear to card covers, else neat, clean, bright and tight throughout. A 2004 reprint of Krag’s account of the 1612 incursion by Scottish forces into Norway and the Battle of Kringen – when Berdon Sejelstad shot Sinclair right in the forehead with a bullet of button silver, based on accounts gathered in the Gudbrandson Valley. Kringen, as acknowledged in the publisher’s foreword, is a key event in Norwegian history – a manifestation of the nation’s independence and its willingness to defend itself. Includes facsimile reprint of the title page of the first edition published by Christiania in 1838. Hard to find title.
