Quarter-bound with dark blue cloth-covered spine over pictorial paper-covered front board, red titles on front, numerous black and white illustrations, a few colour illustration plates (inc. frontispiece). Boards moderately soiled and worn. Spine worn, ends heavily rubbed, cloth worn through and two <3cm splits in cloth. Edges heavily worn and corners heavily rubbed and rounded. Text block edges tanned and foxed (affecting page margins). Endpapers moderately foxed, gift inscription in pen on front free endpaper (dated 1936). Occasional lighter foxing throughout volume.
