Undated but with the appearance of circa 1980. Small, folded leaflet giving a brief history and account of the Jeath [Death] War Museum in Kanchanaburu, Thailand, with two-tone illustrations. Unfolded the leaflet is approximately 10cm by 40cm; bright, clean and crisp, the lower corner is a little curled. The Jeath War Museum, founded in 1970, relates the story of the construction of the Death Railway, linking Thailand and Burma and including the Bridge over the River Kwai, by prisoners of war during 1942 and 1943. Founded as the Death Museum, the name was changed to Jeath, because ‘Death…sounded too horrific’; it also recalls those who built the railway – the Japanese, English, Americans, Thais and Dutch (Holland). Small 16mo.
