The science fiction classic, Lest Darkness Fall, first appeared, in a shorter version, in 1939 in the magazine, Unknown. Several writers have written stories in direct response and three of those are also included in this volume – Frederick Pohl’s The Deadly Mission of Phinaes Snodgrass; S M Sterling’s The Apotheosis of Martin Padway; and David Drake’s 1996 To Bring the Light.
