184pp. Blue cloth-covered boards with gilt titles to spine (dusty top edge & occasional spotting). In a matt, decorative dust jacket in Mystery Book Guild style (a tad grubby with some chapping). First published by John Long in 1963. Harry Patterson is the true name of the author better known as Jack Higgins, under which name this novel has more recently been republished. Very hard to find copies of this novel under the original publication name. The Mystery Book Guild republished leading mystery novels at the rate of two a month, building an attractively uniform series of classic crime and thrillers. Its diamond design dust jackets are both sought after and pleasing. A little gem for lovers of vintage fiction. Some of the novels in the series are now hard to find in this or any other edition.
